A new tie

For anyone who follows along with my painting and wonders if I am still at it- here is the latest in my shop. 

Winter is a time when I try to catch up on a lot of other things that I can't do in summer due to way to much yard and garden work, etc. I am hard at work at catching up the kids scrapbook/albums. And hoping to do a little sewing. 

But painting is ever going in my work area and I have about 10 things in process at the moment. Some are needing to be steamed, others need to be painted - since only the outlines are drawn, etc. How special that God allows us to do things we enjoy.

Dying Silk- Shibori Technique

It has been fun getting to know other silk artists through Etsy and one of my new friends invited me to a lesson where they were doing the Shibori technique. It was a relaxed evening with other silk art fans and I enjoyed meeting more silk artists and trying some techniques I would have never tried at home.

Disney Inspired Necktie

In an another post I was working on this commission- which was to be like the banner shown. 

This was the tie as I painted it.

Silk Painting in Wisconsin

   It was so much fun to teach these ladies a bit about silk painting and to see their fabulous scarves!
